This document, authored by Robin Morgan Pelteret of Cape Town,
South Africa, is constituted of his research into the origins of a family into
which he married, namely the family Kotzee (Kotzé) of Winburg, Orange Free
State, South Africa.
The assistance of the National Archives,
Bloemfontein, Cape Town and Pretoria; the office of the Surveyor-General, Cape
Town; The South African National Library, Cape Town; the Genealogical Library
of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; the Huguenot Foundation of
South Africa; and Mrs. Winnie West of Bloemfontein, Mrs Margaret Nowak (neé
Kotzé) of Pretoria, Mrs Delene Kotzé of Winburg, Dr Petrus Kotzé of Pretoria

Elements of other family trees are included as these
were researched in parallel to the Kotzé (Kotzee) family and complement its
history.
As in all such studies, the work is not definitive
and numerous matters remain unexplained. It is hoped that these will be
elucidated with time. I apologise in advance for any errors in fact or
interpretation. Future additions to the site will appear dated under the
heading APPENDIX.
